Ideal for PVA Support Material

Printing water-soluble PVA as support material allows for easy support removal and provides a better surface finish that traditional support. The gMax 2 PRO Dual 2in1 was made to print PVA supports easily.


We recommend using fresh Esun or Gizmo Dorks PVA and make sure to keep it in a cool dry place with desiccants.

The hotend will retract the inactive filament out of the way, allowing for the second filament to extrude out. The printer will simply purge out the filament to a sacrificial purge tower as it switches.

Chimera+ Dual Nozzle Hotend

The gMax 2 uses genuine E3D Chimera+ hotends for high precision and accessible replacement parts.

Dual Chimera+ with 2 inputs and 2 outputs allows for independent temperature control per nozzle for use with a wide range of materials simultaneously.

Each heater can also utilize different nozzle sizes for extremely strong infill with high detailed perimeters. Mix and match nozzles all in the same dual print!

Industrial Glass Fiber Reinforced

Composite Heated Bed

The glass fiber reinforced heated bed provides a great print surface for all types of filament.


We use a custom laser cut BuildTak G10FR4 composite heated build surface for excellent thermal stability even at high temps combined with an 800 Watt heated pad. The bed is controlled by the printer via an external Solid State Relay (SSR) with PID tuning and fuse protection.


The result is a bed that combines the thermal stability of glass and the resilience of aluminum for a perfect heating cycle. You can adjust temperatures per layer, fine tune the heating cycle and turn off the bed remotely with the gTouch Controller.

The gMax 2 PRO has 32-bit electronics using a powerful Arm Cortex-M4 STM32 processor


The gMax 2 PRO electronics have been completely redesigned to use powerful new controller options and firmware.

We are utilizing Trinamic TMC2130 stepper drivers equipped with SpreadCycle™ and StealthChop™ technology for silent operation at increased speeds and up to 1/256 microstepping!

gMax 2 PRO Dual Printing Examples

Using the gMax 2 PRO Dual Extruder not only allows for multi-color printing, but multi-material printing as well. You can mix the properties of two different materials, experiment with different nozzle sizes or print with water-soluble PVA as support material.

Custom Configuration Files

for PrusaSlicer, Cura, and Simplify3D

The gMax 2 PRO Dual Extruder has been tested extensively using the popular PrusaSlicer, Simplify 3D, and Cura slicing software. Configuration files are available for the 2in1 and Chimera+.

PrusaSlicer is a powerful and free open-source slicing engine with advanced features such as paint on support, variable layer height and dual 2in1 support. (Recommended)
